From a spreadsheet
Cells copied from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets paste in as tab-separated text, which works here as it is. Commas and semicolons as separators are picked up on their own.
Special characters
A | inside a cell would break the table, so it is written as \|. Line breaks inside a cell become <br>, which GitHub and most Markdown viewers show as a new line.
