Convert HEIC to JPG

iPhones save photos as HEIC, which plenty of Windows apps, upload forms and older editors won’t open. Add a batch and get JPG copies that open anywhere, made on your device.

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP or HEIC. As many as you like, no sign-up.

Save as

Near identical to the original. Good for print and further editing.

Background

JPG can’t be see-through, so clear areas turn white.

Nothing is uploaded. Location, camera details and other hidden data are removed from every file.

Bigger or smaller than the HEIC

In our tests on four phone photos, quality 90 gave a JPG 1.3 to 1.9 times the size of the HEIC. At 75, every one came out smaller than the HEIC it started as. Pick 75 for email and sharing, 90 for printing or editing later.

Colours match the original

iPhones record a wider range of colours than JPG files usually hold. Each photo is changed to standard colours the way a colour-aware viewer shows it, so skin and skies don’t drift. Only the most saturated shades move to the nearest colour a JPG can show.

The location doesn’t come along

An iPhone photo records where it was taken, often with the altitude and the direction the camera faced. The copies you download carry none of that, and no camera model, date or other hidden data either. If you need the date the photo was taken, note it before you convert.

What stays behind

Only the main picture is converted. The extra layer an iPhone keeps to make bright areas brighter on HDR screens, Portrait depth data and any other image stored in the same file are left out. A Live Photo’s motion lives in a separate video file, so you get the still.

Your photos stay with you

The photos are converted on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and they’re gone.
