Resize first, then mark
We ran 18 public-domain NASA photos, 68.5 MB in all and up to 54 megapixels each, through this chain. They came back as 6.01 MB of 2048-pixel JPGs in 31 seconds on a fast laptop, 1.6 seconds for a typical photo. Watermarking the same photos at full size gave 76 MB, more than we started with, and the slowest photo alone took 11.5 seconds.
One setting for every shape
The mark’s width is a share of each photo’s width, 30% to start with, so it looks the same on portrait and landscape shots of any size. Put it in a corner or the middle, or repeat it across the picture, which makes it much harder to crop out.
Text marks here, logos in the single tool
The Workflow tool adds text. To stamp a logo, use Add watermark to images, which takes your logo file and can also run on a batch.
If one photo fails
A photo that can’t be opened is set aside with the reason, and the rest carry on. In our test a JPG cut short after 6 KB stopped at the first step while the other three photos finished and downloaded together.
Your files stay with you
Every step runs on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and the files are gone; only the list of steps is remembered, and only on this device.
From our tests
- Batch-editing photos without uploading them: what we measured
Times, file sizes and failure handling for photo batches run on the device, laptop and iPhone-like.
