Remove metadata and Content Credentials from a video

Drop in one of your own videos to get a copy without its Content Credentials, location, phone model, software names and recording dates. The picture and sound stay exactly as they were.

Several steps, or a whole batch? Chain this with other tools in a Workflow and run them in one go.

What comes out

Content Credentials (C2PA), XMP blocks, and the tag boxes where phones, editors and AI tools write the location, make and model, software, title, author and cover picture. The created and modified times in the file header are set to blank. MP4, MOV, M4V and 3GP files; WebM and MKV aren’t supported yet.

Nothing is re-encoded

Only the file’s header changes. Because taking boxes out moves the picture and sound data, every pointer to it is recalculated, and the copy is read back and opened in a player before you download it. In our tests every video and audio frame came out byte-identical.

What stays

Track names such as “Core Media Video” and the encoder label, which sit inside the parts a player needs. Timed metadata tracks, such as GoPro GPS, because their readings are stored with the picture. Invisible watermarks such as SynthID, which live in the picture and sound, and any visible logo. How a site labels the video is up to that site.

Your videos stay with you

The video is cleaned on your own device. Only its header is read into memory; the picture and sound go straight from your file into the download, so a 600 MB video is ready as quickly as a small one. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account.
