Several steps, or a whole batch? Chain this with other tools in a Workflow and run them in one go.

A label, not a lock

The mark goes on top of each page as its own text or picture, separate from the page’s content, so software that edits PDF page content can select it and delete it. It tells every reader what the document is, which is its real job. For images, where it can’t simply be deleted, our tests on how easily it’s painted or cropped out are in the guide below.

Other alphabets

Text is written in a standard PDF font, which adds almost nothing to the file size but only covers Western European letters. Greek, Cyrillic, Chinese, emoji and other characters are drawn as a picture instead, in your device’s own font, and the preview tells you when that happens.

Hidden details come off

The watermarked PDF leaves without its document details: author, title, the app that made it, creation dates and embedded XMP data.

Your files stay with you

Everything happens on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and your files are gone.
