Nothing is uploaded. Answers stay where they are and can no longer be changed. Author, software and other hidden details are removed too.

Several steps, or a whole batch? Chain this with other tools in a Workflow and run them in one go.

Why flatten before merging

Merging copies pages into a new file, and a form’s list of fields stays behind. The boxes still show, but most apps no longer treat them as a form. Flatten first and the answers become ordinary page content that survives any merge.

What else is flattened

Form fields only. Comments, highlights and links stay as they are. Fields with nothing typed in them are removed, leaving the blank box drawn on the page.

Forms made with Adobe XFA

A form built only with Adobe XFA has no ordinary fields to flatten, and we say so. Files that carry both keep their ordinary fields, which get flattened; the XFA part is removed.

Your files stay with you

Your PDFs are opened and saved on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and they’re gone.
