Make a profile picture that fits the circle
Most sites show profile pictures as a circle, so the corners of your square disappear. The ring on the box shows what will stay.

The sizes each site states
LinkedIn: from 400 × 400 up to 7680 × 4320 pixels, up to 8 MB, JPG or PNG. X: 400 × 400 recommended, up to 2 MB. Facebook Pages: 320 × 320 for best quality, shown at 176 pixels on computers and 196 on phones, cropped to a circle. YouTube: shown at 98 × 98, files up to 15 MB, no animated GIFs.
Which size to pick
400 × 400 meets the LinkedIn minimum and matches X. 320 is Facebook’s number for Pages. 800 gives the sharpest result on sites that show the picture larger or on high-resolution screens, and is still far under every limit above.
