How the colours are chosen

Every visible pixel is sorted towards the colour it’s closest to, and each colour moves to the middle of its group. That favours colours that cover a lot of the picture, so a small bright accent can lose out to a large background. Ask for more colours, or pick the accent by hand with the picker.

Fewer colours than you asked for

Colours too close to tell apart are merged, so a logo with three flat colours gives three, even if you ask for twelve. See-through areas are ignored.

Your files stay with you

Everything happens on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and it’s gone.
