Where it plays
Animated WebP plays in every current major web browser and in most chat apps. Some older image viewers show only the first frame, so keep the GIF if you need it to work everywhere.
Long animations
Every frame is handled separately, so a long or large GIF can take a while. Very long ones, or a device that can’t read animations frame by frame, give a still of the first frame, and the list tells you when that happened.
Your files stay with you
The images are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and they’re gone.
