Colours and size
A GIF can show at most 256 colours per frame, so smooth gradients and photos pick up visible banding, and the file usually comes out larger than the WebP. Lower the quality to use fewer colours and shrink it.
Soft edges on transparent stickers
GIF pixels are either fully see-through or solid, so soft shadows and anti-aliased edges turn jagged. Pick a background colour that matches where the GIF will be shown for the cleanest edge.
Your files stay with you
The images are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and they’re gone.
