Convert HEIC to PNG
Get PNG copies of your iPhone photos with nothing thrown away in the saving, ready for design and editing apps that can’t read HEIC.

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP or HEIC. As many as you like, no sign-up.
Every pixel stays exactly as it was, so there is nothing to turn down. Choose Smaller file to cut PNGs far more.
Nothing is uploaded. Location, camera details and other hidden data are removed from every file.

Expect very big files
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, and phone photos are full of fine grain it can’t pack down. In our tests the PNG came out 7 to 20 times the size of the HEIC: a 2.08 MB iPhone 13 Pro Max photo became 14.9 MB and took about 9 seconds on a fast laptop. For sharing, HEIC to JPG makes far more sense.
When PNG is worth it
Choose PNG when the photo goes into an editor you’ll save from many times, since JPG loses a little more on each save. The colours are changed to standard ones on the way, the same as for JPG.
The location doesn’t come along
An iPhone photo records where it was taken, often with the altitude and the direction the camera faced. The copies you download carry none of that, and no camera model, date or other hidden data either. If you need the date the photo was taken, note it before you convert.
What stays behind
Only the main picture is converted. The extra layer an iPhone keeps to make bright areas brighter on HDR screens, Portrait depth data and any other image stored in the same file are left out. A Live Photo’s motion lives in a separate video file, so you get the still.
Your photos stay with you
The photos are converted on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you don’t need an account. Close the tab and they’re gone.
